Meet Heather

Heather Carpenter is an enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist who brings over two decades of experience to the practice of speech-language pathology. Over the course of her career, Heather has worked in various settings including private practice, medical outpatient, elementary school, birth-three, and within a multi-disciplinary team to diagnose and treat language-based learning disabilities.

Heather holds Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Washington, in Communications and Speech and Hearing Sciences. She earned her Masters in Speech Pathology also at the University of Washington. Heather practiced in her hometown of Seattle prior to moving to Northern California in 2012.

In addition to speech and language delays and disorders, Heather has a strong clinical interest in working with dyslexia. She has extensive experience in both differential diagnosis of reading disabilities and multisensory literacy instruction. This background of assessment and remediation gives Heather a robust understanding of the relationship between test performance and data which drives a child’s specific needs and focus of instruction.

Time spent outside of speech therapy is spent swimming, reading, golfing, hiking the hills of Marin County and spending time with her animals and family.
